What is a postpartum doula?

A postpartum doula nourishes and nurtures you through one of life's most tender and transformative seasons, supporting you to enter your postpartum feeling prepared and informed and gently held as you rest, recover and bond with your baby.
Our relationship begins during pregnancy, allowing us to connect and prepare thoughtfully for the postpartum season ahead. I bring calm amidst the unknown, a steady presence when things feel wobbly, and thoughtful care that centres you.
Through practical support, emotional companionship, practices and rituals of care, and evidence-informed guidance, I help create the conditions for healing, integration and wellbeing.
I walk alongside you. I honour your unique experience, support your confidence as a parent, and encourage you to trust your own instincts and inner wisdom.
In our culture, this transition is so often rushed, medicalised or overlooked. Families can move through one of the greatest transformations of their lives feeling underprepared, unseen, isolated or, heartbreakingly, unsupported.
Doulas understand that postpartum is a profound rite of passage. We recognise the immense physical, emotional, hormonal, social and identity shifts that unfold, and believe they deserve to be met with reverence, community and compassionate care.
It's my hope that every new parent knows what it feels like to be deeply held through this season.
